“Since 684 BC, the King of Sriwijaya has given mandate concerning Environmental Management and Conservation in the Talang Tuwo Inscription,” he said.
Najib also explained that aside of Talang Tuwo Inscription, South Sumatera is also home to Simbur Cahaya, which is a guideline that describes means of managing the environment.
“Environmental Management has been taught by our ancestors, so let it become a stepping stone for our generation as well as the future generation to be engaged in even better conducts for the environment in order to prevent haze as well as forest and land fire from happening ever again in South Sumatera,” Najib elaborated.
